The University of Oklahoma has an extensive tradition in Special Education and Transition. With a historic background in developing self-determination in students with disabilities and transition assessment, the UO is an excellent place to study.
The University of Arkansas is a land grant university with a mission to improve outcomes for ALL students in the state. The U of A team is an interdisciplinary group of scholars looking at multiple individual and societal factors that impact student outcomes.
The University of Connecticut is research intensive university with a strong focus on improving postsecondary outcomes for students with disabilities. Faculty have strong connections to the transition to postsecondary education and teacher preparation.
The University of Kansas is the number one ranked Special Education Program in the US. Faculty at KU are top in the field and have a strong focus on developing self-determination and creating environments that foster self-determination for students with disabilities and identifying in-school practices that support positive post-school outcomes for students with disabilities.
The Ohio State University is a mission driven university focus on preparing high quality special educators with a strong foundation in applied experiences and research methodologies. Faculty research are focused on supporting students with more intensive support needs and their transition to employment and postsecondary settings.
Sam Houston State University is a minority serving institution. The ELEVATE transition program is a full-time online program (the only out of the consortium). Faculty have extensive experience in supporting the transition of students with disabilities and improving the outcomes of young people as they develop into adults.
